Charles Dennis is Vice-President, Innovation Portfolio & Intellectual Property, for the $5 billion Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management division of Medtronic. He is responsible for driving open innovation, strategic implementation planning for advanced products, and management of intellectual property. Mr. Dennis previously was Vice-President of Business Development, and Director Intellectual Property, both for CRDM.
Prior to joining Medtronic, Mr. Dennis led the creation of the Strategic Intellectual Asset Management licensing business at 3M, and was Director Specialty Storage and Director New Business Ventures in the Data Storage division of Imation. Mr. Dennis also practiced intellectual property law for over 15 years and was general counsel/treasurer of the international business development consulting firm DC Associates.
Mr. Dennis has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics, cum laude and with departmental honors, from Carleton College, and a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law.
