Glenn Doell is Technology Transfer Director at Greene Tweed & Co., a private manufacturer of advanced components used in critical service applications by major companies in the semiconductor, aerospace, oilfield, and petrochemical and power generation markets. Mr. Doell is responsible for growing Greene Tweed’s business through licensing and acquisition of external technologies, joint development programs, strategic alliances, and M&A projects.

Mr. Doell’s background includes 25 years of experience in business marketing and product management, technology commercialization, venture capital and private equity, and all aspects of technology commercialization and technology business start-up and growth.

Prior to joining Greene Tweed, Mr., Doell was founding director of Lehigh University’s Office of Technology Transfer, Entrepreneurial Research and Education, where he was responsible for identifying innovations with commercial potential emerging from Lehigh’s research activities, managing the intellectual property related to those innovations, and partnering with commercial companies with the capacity to transform those innovations into tangible products and services.

Previously, Mr. Doell was EVP of Marketing and Business Development at an energy technology company, where he was part of the founding management team that brought the company’s products from the laboratory through field demonstrations to full commercialization. In addition to leading the company’s sales and marketing programs, he was instrumental in the formation of the company’s international joint ventures and strategic alliances, licensing agreements, and venture capital and private equity financing.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Doell led Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's internationally-recognized Business Incubator Program where he assisted dozens of high-technology start-up firms with business formation, capitalization, and management issues. He was also an instructor in Rensselaer’s Lally School of Management and Technology. Previously, he was with Texas Instruments in progressively responsible product management and marketing management positions.

Mr. Doell has been a director, volunteer, or advisor for a number of private companies and non-profit and economic development groups and has consulted extensively in the U.S. and internationally on small business and business incubation issues. He received his BS in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and also received the Spafford Prize as RPI’s top MBA graduate.
